A Lifetime of Public Service.
Chris Shaffer has spent more than 30 years serving this community — as a law enforcement officer, city administrator, and practicing attorney. He built this firm around a simple belief: good legal help should be available to everyone, not just those with the time and money to spend hours sitting in a lawyer's office.

I grew up around the law. My father was an attorney. So is my brother, my sister-in-law, my nephew, and my great-uncle. My mother spent more than two decades as a legal secretary to a circuit court judge. The dinner table conversations, the courthouse stories, the late-night case discussions — that was just life. Law was not something I chose so much as something I was born into, and it has shaped everything about how I approach this work.
Before focusing on private practice, I spent approximately 15 years as a street officer in law enforcement. That experience gave me something most attorneys never get — a ground-level understanding of how the legal system actually works for everyday people. I have seen the system from the outside, from the inside, and from every angle in between.
I also served as City Administrator for the City of Lawrenceburg. I know how local government works, how institutions operate, and how legal decisions ripple through a real community. I currently serve on the board of directors of a local financial institution and remain as connected to Lawrence County as ever.
At home I am married to my wife April. Our daughter Elizabeth is studying at the University of North Alabama with plans to attend law school — continuing a family tradition that now spans multiple generations. When I am not working you will likely find me watching the Vols with our four dogs claiming most of the couch.
“I started this practice because I believe everyone deserves access to a real attorney — not a form generator, not a chatbot, not a paralegal pretending to be a lawyer.”
